DISC Personality Tool Profiling

This program gives participants an overview of how DISC works. Teams will be grouped according to how they perceive themselves to be D, I, S or C and they will be given several tasks to complete within their team – all while additional scenarios depicting a real-life office environment will be thrown into play while observations will be done on the participants’ actions and reactions on each presented scenario.

DISC measures behaviour that expands to a work setting of what you are expected to be and what you truly are. This tool provides clarity to many organisations that can make them more efficient and a better working team all together. There are four personality types. These types, blend together to determine your unique personality. To help you understand why you feel, think and act the way you do. The following information summarizes the DISC model of human behaviour:

DISC

How it is different from MBTI:

The DISC test is shorter in length than MBTI (typically 20-30 questions for DISC, up to 90 for most MBTI tests)

  • MBTI sorts individuals into 16 personality types, while DISC focuses primarily on 4 dominant personality types (Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, and Compliant)
  • MBTI assumes that personality is fixed and unlikely to change, while DISC is more open to the possibility that different situations and environments might bring out different personality traits in an individuals
  • MBTI is largely an indicator of an individual’s internal thinking, while DISC is designed to measure how personality translates to external behavior
  • MBTI is a good assessment tool for the individual looking for self-knowledge.

Benefits of DISC:

  1. Decreased judgement
  2. Become a people developer
  3. Move from a manager of people to a leader of people
  4. Dealing with changes positively
